Papa Fincher and Auntie Abby

We had a great visit last week from the babies's Papa Fincher and Aunt Abby. They were able to come down over Abby's spring break and take advantage of our gorgeous weather and get some baby loving in. It was great to have extra hands, plus moms got the chance to go to the mall, out to lunch and dinner a few times and pedicures and Froyo with Abby.  Can't wait until your next visit here!

Saving money

As you may imagine, having a family of 5 is not cheap. It is the opposite! Here are some of the things we are currently doing to save ourselves some moolah.

- Angie quit her job and started a new job that only requires her to work once a week. While this is less money coming in, it is saving on the money going out. With Angie being home more we aren't having to pay for day care for the twins or Cameron for that matter. Cam does love going to school so he is still going about 3 days a week. When the twins are a little older ( 1- 1.5) we may start them at Cameron's school for a few days a week as well. When all three of them will be there for a few days a week, Ang will be able to pick up more shifts at her current position. It is a blessing for the babes to be able to be home all the time with one of their moms.

- We got rid of cable. This was a hard sell for me. I don't feel like I watched TV all the time, but there were certain series I was hooked on and expected to watch every week. Paige tried to sell me on it when she was living in Denver and had Apple TV but I wasn't ready to give up watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. Turns out I don't have to give up any of it! I present .... The Roku! Netflix, Hulu, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, HBO Go, PBS, Pandora and so many more channels that I can add on there. You have to buy a box for each TV you want to use the Roku for but basically buying three of them was the cost of two months of cable. Win win.

- Solar panels. While this won't necessarily save us money right now; it will save us a TON in the next coming years as we build up credit from the solar energy our house is making and it didn't cost us one cent to have everything installed and started up. I also love the fact that it is green friendly! Whoop Whoop!

These are the big things we have done as well as other small things like couponing, eating out less, no fast food, and no buying things we don't need. All this things will make a difference and make us feel like we are saving some money! Sorry this post was so boring. :)

Kelley and Hudson

This past week we got to have some visitors! One of my best friends Kelley and her son Hudson came to the valley of the sun! Hudson was born a month to the day, later than Cameron. It is so crazy that they are the same age and yet SO different. We had an amazing time though. There were tantrums to be had, hitting (done by my son... poor Hud), running around like crazy and laughter. We made it through the week with some beers and spiced coffee but we did it! It was nice to have someone else who's life was just as crazy as ours around. Kell was a huge help with the babies and Cameron. Ms. Eleanor, who has major stranger danger, was very found of Kell! It was so sweet. I'm pretty sure she would have stolen my child if I let her. We mostly stayed home with the kids but did venture out for a spring training baseball game and bowling! We also had a "moms night out", which was much needed. Enjoy some pics from the week.
